DigitalCharity.com???

Hi Danielle, I live near Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have no children, and yes I have tried to help other families with extra groceries and basic needs, presents on birthdays and Christmas etc.

I can always use help here with lawn care and other work around my houses, as I never seem to have enough time. There isn't anything I can hire you for being that you live 2,000 miles away from here. I also don't expect anyone to do anything for me in return for any assistance.

I can understand that it is difficult there. The cost of living is even higher in California that where I live here.

I don't have much extra money right now, as I recently drove out to Texas to attend a funeral for my last Aunt. That was not exactly cheap. Now that I'm back home, one of my cats has become seriously ill, and I've had to go to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital 3 times in the past 2 weeks. My regular vet recommended euthanasia, and I just couldn't do it. Without children, these animals are like my children. Sometimes in the past I've spent thousands of dollars for just a few more weeks or months.

I currently have 75 items listed for sale on eBay, and some car parts on craigslist to raise some money fast. I have a lot of junk around here, and it needs to go anyways. I lost my last parent in 2009, and didn't have an estate sale, so I have a lot of extra items here that can be sold. It goes back to time again. It takes time to take pictures, write eBay listings, and then package and ship. I'm overloaded at my full time job, and end up not getting enough sleep.

My bills are all current, but I've used up most of my resources to keep up. If I could get some more items sold and shipped out of here, I could possibly get ahead a little, and whether this animal will live or the treatments work is a wild card on time and expenses. Under these circumstances, I can't reach out to anyone right now.

I wish you well and will certainly talk to you if you need someone to talk to.

in response to cjd102...   Why? Because he sent me a private message offering to help me within a few minutes after logging into Aidpage as a new user. Anyone who views my page can clearly see that I'm not asking anyone for help. I've seen this type of thing before. They try to get personal information out of you, so they can scam you. No one is going to log in here as a new user and offer free money to someone without even reading their page or researching the need.

Why all the lies? Why the fabricated and/or exaggerated stories to obtain money? Why all the scamming? STOP LYING!!!

in response to lbart123...   That's a good idea, especially when we get into the cold weather season here. It is too bad that people have to be afraid to seek help from a stranger, but that is the way the world is. Just the other day, I bought new school clothes for a family I have been helping for a period of time. It took a long time to build up a level of trust with them. I'd like to find another family or two in my community that are in need of help with basic needs before the end of the year holidays. I've never paid much attention to people I see in stores, as to how they dress, or what they put in a shopping cart. The only interaction I've had recently with someone in a store, was a lady that asked me to get something off the top shelf that she couldn't reach. That happens once in a while in the grocery store. As far as going to a women's shelter, you have to apply to be a volunteer and pass a criminal background check. I have no doubt that I would pass a background check, but you can't just walk up to the door in one of those places and offer to help.

I understand where you're coming from. I have been scammed more than once helping someone on the Internet. I have decided years ago, that I would only help someone if we met face to face and I had an opportunity to verify their situation. I live in a large metro area in Minnesota. I know there are families in serious need of food and basic needs, but I can't find them. I have helped out in the past, and I don't give cash or gift cards. If I see hungry children, and an empty refrigerator, I will do something immediately. I only give groceries, basic needs like clothing, personal care products, and birthday or Christmas gifts for children. I either give them those products directly, or take them shopping and let them pick out what they need. I want to make sure that anything I spend is used for the purpose in which it is intended.

I tried this past Christmas by responding to some local requests for help found on sites like craigslist and 2hands. I couldn't believe some of the responses I got. I had people telling me that under no circumstances would we meet, and just send money to their Paypal account. I had one that desperately needed a working TV, but insisted that it had to be a flat screen and provided me a list of what specific models they would or would not accept. Heck, I don't even own a flat screen TV yet! Then I had one response demanding that I gave them a specific dollar amount of their "spending budget" before they would agree to meet me at a grocery store. These are some examples of the kind of crap I get when attempting to respond to a help request on the Internet. There are others, but these are among the most brazen.

How do you find families that truly are in need of help and are appreciative of what you do for them? I'm not rich, but I have more resources than some of my peers. I often feel that I should be doing more in my community, but I don't know how to go about it. I'm not going to give up, but I'm done responding to help requests unless I can meet the people.

i have bad teeth and i i have no money to get them fix there making me really sick and i have heart problems and need to get them fix

Wow, I wish I knew what resources were available in Montana. I visit there every summer.  See if you can get a prescription for Clindamycin for starters.  It will kill the infection in the abscessed teeth and relieve some of the pain. Find out if the Montana State University in Bozeman has any programs for dental students. Some colleges that train future dentists have programs for people on low income to help get their teeth fixed.  We have that at the University of Minnesota, but I don't know about Montana. I had bad teeth when I grew up and had a lot of fillings put in when I was a teen.

I need free dental work

 in response to soulight...

Also , besides free clinics , which are sometimes full of tons of people , some churches run clinics. More ideas and a link to a page about dental care in Georgia : http://more-free-and-low-cost-dental-help-listed-by-state.app-sl-1.aidpage.com/more-free-and-low-cost-dental-help-listed-by-state/

I have been going to a free clinic myself and it helps to make friends with the receptionist. If they are really busy , you can call them up and ask when a good time is to come in that is not as busy.

Hi littchboo

Do you live near New Orleans ? I found a program there were they are helping people with dental programs for free. It sounds like you are really uncomfortable. It is so hard to have dental problems , or any medical problem for that matter , and no money.

I will look to see if I can find more near where you live. Could you tell me what area of Louisiana you live in ? Just the name of the county that you live in would help.
